The Product Development Lifecycle: From Discovery to Post-Launch
Learn the full product development lifecycle: from validating ideas and defining strategy to designing MVPs, testing with users, and launching products that hold up over time.
About the course
A closer look at the course
Most product failures are not caused by bad ideas. They happen when teams skip steps, assume they know their users, and build before they validate. This course walks through the entire product development lifecycle so that the pattern does not repeat itself on your next project. You will explore each stage of development from the ground up: how to identify real market needs, research your competition, define your target audience, and validate a concept before a single line of code is written. The emphasis is on building the right product first, then building it right. Practical frameworks like SWOT analysis, SCAMPER, and structured prototype testing give you concrete tools to apply at each stage, not just theory to absorb. From there, the course moves into product definition and strategy. You will learn how to shape a clear value proposition, design an MVP that reflects actual user needs, and develop a marketing strategy that connects to the product's core promise. Throughout, the focus stays on keeping cross-functional teams aligned and communicating around what matters most: user value. The final section covers what happens after launch. Testing, iteration, performance monitoring, and post-launch activities are treated as part of the process, not an afterthought. Whether you are a designer, product manager, entrepreneur, or career-changer, this course replaces guesswork with a repeatable, evidence-based approach to building products that last.
